Tech Week

WEEK 11

29.08.2022 - 02.08.2022

Tech Week

30.02.2022

Today, I had my last supervision with Patrick before my show. I showed him my new improvements and additions that I had worked on after our last session. These included added diagonals in movement and to generally bring together my sections more seamlessly. At the end of the tutorial, I wrote down these things to keep in mind for when I perform on the day:

- OWN IT!

- Keep legs bent

- Whole body language

- Keep spine involved

- Connect to actions and motivations

- This is poetry

Today was a matter of getting things done. I completed the following things:

- Clean finale dance

- Do a run of the show

- List lighting cues

- Finish ethos forms

- Start risk assessment

Here is my rough draft of lighting cues:

Later that evening, I made the official cue sheets for my lighting and my Qlab file. My tech module in my undergraduate degree has served me well for this moment!

Tech day!

I first went to the props store with some technicians to arrange my set. Whilst looking in the store, we found some fish netting and rope that fit perfectly for my Cornwall corner. Also, we managed to get a fence for the city corner. I enjoyed the differing heights that the ladder compared to the box offered onstage. I had a successful tech day going through the lighting and sound and I managed to get one run in.

Here is a picture of my final set, alongside one on the projections.

My set was able to stay in the main auditorium over the weekend, in preparation for my show on the Monday.
