Today, I collated the video and picture materials that I took from my Cornwall trip in June that I could potentially use for projections. I have videos of streams, the shore, rock lands and seaweed that all capture the tranquil British seaside correctly. Here is an example!
I looked at some sea shanties, particularly Fisherman's Friends as they are a favourite of my Dad's, and found 'Drunken Sailor' and 'Nelson's Blood' to be good contenders.

Narrator - Wes Anderson Inspiration:
In my covid isolation period, I watched two Wes Anderson films: 'Moonrise Kingdom' and 'The Darjeeling Limited'. I've always enjoyed Anderson's pace and wittiness of text so I thought I would watch these films for inspiration. From 'Moonrise Kingdom', I took an interest in the Weatherman character and his narrative role. His dialogue was poetic but matter of fact, and helped to hold the narrative around him. He would have occurring 'check-in' moments to describe the weather of their location.

In inspiration of this, I have decided to also multi-role as narrator and describe the run up to the fictional Cornish Boat festival. This way I have an avenue to describe Cornish settings in a creative but informative way. Here is my first piece of writing for it.

Today I played with making a random movement sequence then writing text and merging the two forms together. The movement sequence incorporated some stereotypical male gestures with more abstract moves. I then wrote a text about male workers here in the city and back home.

The text ended on the topic of my dad which should follow nicely into exploring his childhood in Polperro.
